Mixed discipline media artist Give Up resurrects his auditory terror project HORDERS. Like the nightmare unfolding around you, like the fear surrounding you. Claustrophobic, gnarling sickness and noise lurches forward. Negativity is burnt and exorcised. Like being buried under soot and ash. Cold, the sound of the poisons you carry inside you, wanting to be freed.
Drawing inspiration from Winter, Starkweather and Innumerable Forms — and yet sounding all together different than all of them, this album revels in its inaccessibility. Droning low-end tones, caustic noise and cavernous reverb overpowers all. In addition to what calls themselves GIVE UP, this record features contributions from members of 50-50, Gay Marriage, Hatred Surge, Iron Age, Pride Kills and The Burden.
This CD includes a 24 page booklet designed and manufactured by GIVE UP and features accompanying visuals and lyrics. This art serves to reflect the audio; this audio informs the art. Both can be enjoyed separately, but combined they provide the true experience demanded by this project.
